Subject: Re: Action Plan

 Dear Basu Sir

Thanks for contineous follow up for the KM workshop and related intiatives.

In addition to my verbal communications about the outcome of the KM workshop, held recently in Bhuwaneswor, let me also put my thoughts and impression in writings as well and, also some of the activities planned for immediate execution.

 Impressions

The workshop on Knowledgement managment and KS tool was higly beneficial for me individually and, for the instituion i am involved since it was first of its kind

Four years on the ground, Poverty Alleviation Fund(PAF) Nepal  is currenlty in the  learning phase from its own ground experiance and for that knowlegement management and dissemination is of paramount importance. The training has its huge relevence for us as we are currently working on documenting knowledge and learning from them.

 To me more specifically,

  •  the network mapping exercise let us to know how actully knowledge flows and how we can further consolidate our weak linkages.
  • Caputing and dissemination of knowlege thorough sucess stories and cases, and different techniques involved
  • The Chat show method of knowledge sharing was enriching— in an informal and fun environment.
  •  I am now the member of Km4Dev network, and  have started communicationg with frens and use the web site for different purpose.
  • The basic elements of success stories and cases has really helped me to add value on my writings.
  • The blog and Wiki we created during the workshop–”The new kid on the block” was awarded in the category of originality and creative writings (http://kmtraining09.pbworks.com/Capture-and-disseminate)
  • The facilitors were able to run the show smoothly and I really did not see my watch during the workshop session. It was  in fact one of the best workshop/training i have participated recently.
  • The workshop has let many of the development professinals working on different instituions of India and Nepal to discuss and intereact on pertinent issues. Thanks to IFAD, ENRAP AND IDRC.

Immediate plan……..

  • We are currnelty working to include a blog section in our website–where our staffs were put their thoughts and impressions about anything…and post write-ups once they are back from the field. PAF ED has already agreed to this.
  • We are also working to publish yet another collection of cases and success stories.
  • Photo sharing through Flicker……a photograph training and posting of photos on Flicker and Blog is planned.

One again, thanks for your contineous encouragement.
